The History of Disney - A Glimpse from the Past

Walt Disney was born in Chicago and was the son of modest means and worked for his grandfather. He then began to work for Disney, where he gained a great deal of experience as an illustrator and cartoonist. He would also create some shows for the Disney Channel. His first animated feature was the shorts titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Who is Walt Disney?

After the war ended, Walt Disney then went into animation to create more movies and cartoon series that are still popular today. The History of Disney includes many of his most fabulous, animated creations, including The Jungle Book, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Cars, Finding Nemo, etc. The list is quite lengthy, but some of his greatest movies include Tarzan, Hercules, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, etc. At the time of his death, Walt Disney was responsible for creating over 100 animated features that are still popular today. Some of these films include Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo, The Nightmare Before Christmas, etc.

Decades of Television

A great deal of emphasis has been placed on the history of Disney because of the massive amount of money that they brought to the company after their merger with NBC Universal. In addition to the aforementioned animated films and TV shows, they created several theme parks as well. Because of this, Walt Disney was also the founder of the Walt Disney Family Museum. This museum focuses on the history of Walt Disney and the creation of the company. There is even an entire stage set up of the very first Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. In addition, several interactive exhibits give guests the ability to learn more about the history of Disney and its excellent trademarks.

Producing Large Names and Icons

During the early years, Walt Disney produced several cartoons for both TV and the motion picture industry. One of the most well-known among these was Mickey Mouse. When Walt Disney left the business, two cartoon shorts were produced that would later become known as the infamous Mickey Mouse shorts. For the joint venture, Disney had to agree to air all episodes through the Disney Channel. During this time, there was a rumour that a spinoff of the Disney Channel was in the works. However, it was never released as it would later be cancelled after being renewed for a second season.

What it meant to be Disney

In September of 1970, the Disney cartoon feature film The Lion King debuted. The film was a huge financial success, not only for Disney but for the whole industry. As a result, it made three more animated films, which each went on to become massive successes. The history of Disney would later be updated with the addition of more and new shows. These shows became some of the highest-rated cartoons for the Disney Channel. Each of these shows has a different style and would later become some of the biggest animated hits of all time.
